This fireplace was developed by Alexander Fedorov and later built in a stuck out country house, which is why the main task was to competently “enter” it into the current, existing interior of the house. No one will argue that electric heating boilers can be bought at the present time everywhere, but the customer wanted to have a reserve source of heat in the house – fireplace.
As a rule, in such a situation, the key to successfully completed work is a productive dialogue with the customer. For a subject conversation with the customer, several sketchs of the fireplace were prepared in advance. It was after discussing these options that the final decision was made.
We provide the word to the author of the project.
The living room of the Great House, for which this fireplace was designed, was decorated in a modern minimalist style – strictly and laconic. Therefore, one of the wishes of our customer was to move away from generally accepted classical forms. The fireplace seemed to him quite stylish, and without excesses.
Based on the wishes expressed by the customer and his ideas, laid down earlier in the already existing interior of the house, and repeating the elements of the decoration of the premises in detail as well as the color scheme of the fireplace, an attempt to create a single space in the living room, where the fireplace would take its legal location. Thus, the polished marble of the fireplace on the banquet banquet banks is perfectly echoing in color with tiles on the floor of the room, and a beige -colored chopped marble, selected for decoration of the fireplace sidewalls echoes with the decoration of walls of the living room. To give the greatest lightness and airiness the fireplace, its decorative box was painted white.
With the help of symmetrical strict lines, as well as the accuracy and high proportionality of all to the unified parts of this fireplace made by our hands, the fireplace was transferred to the fireplace a harmonious and rather elegant look, which helped to perfectly enter it into the existing interior.
Not many brickwork. This time it was decided to make the lower part to the firebox from foam blocks with dimensions of 500x300x100 mm.
In the design of the fireplace – many different angles that are naturally easier to make from foam blocks. I laid the blocks on ordinary tile glue. After the glue dries, marble parts of fireplace banquets were mounted.
Marble – very heavy but also very fragile material. And that is why it is necessary to work with it especially carefully.
First, I laid out the prepared marble parts dry and only after I was convinced that all parts of the fireplace were fitted well and correctly, I put them on tile glue, exposing them at the required level with the help of previously prepared wooden wedges. Only after a day when the glue has already dried up to work but with a brick.
From the 1st on the 7th row of brickwork these are the sidewalls of our fireplace. After they were finally laid out, I installed the firebox acquired earlier by the customer with a vertical lifting of the door and also connected the stoves with a diameter of 200 mm from the heat -resistant stainless steel to the previously prepared brick chimney.
On the 7th row of the fireplace, I installed a concrete jumper prepared according to drawings from heat-resistant and reinforced concrete in the factory. Then, having reported four more rows of brickwork, I began to install a simple decorative box of fireplace.
The frame of the box was made of a metal profile of 50×50 mm, and then sheathed with a plasterboard 12 mm thick with a thickness. True, preliminary between the profiles of the box around the entire inner perimeter, I fixed foil basalt wool in a stove of 50 mm.
Vata and foil on it perfectly perform the function of thermal insulation of the fireplace. After that, I started the final decoration of the fireplace.
The lower part of the fireplace was covered with special structural plaster. On the sidewalls of the fireplace and the box, a tile of decorative chopped marble with a pre -selected chamfer was laid. I also laid this tile on tile glue, but drywall was primed. The middle part of the box is plowed and primed and also painted white. A steel ventilation grill was installed in the upper part of the fireplace box to remove the outgoing warm air received from the heating of a cast -iron fireplace and the chimney itself.
At the end of work on the assembly of the fireplace, I carried out a control firebox of the fireplace. Traction, as expected, turned out to be excellent.
