Shield parquet with a layer of veneer with a thickness of 4 mm are used in rooms with a small load on the floors. With a thickness of 8 mm, the shield parquet is designed for a moderate load. Parquet shields have the shape of a square and a fixed dimensional series: 400×400, 475×475, 600×600, 800×800 mm, as well as additional dimensions for special purposes.
Shield floors were used in Russia in the XVIII century. Russian parquets of the XVII-XIX centuries are represented by samples of decorative art. No other country can boast of such a rich and diverse parquet history as Russia.
In the XVIII century, the work on the production of parquet was completely manual. A shield parquet was produced since the 70s of the XIX century. In this regard, the factory parquet spread widely only by the beginning of the 80s of the XIX century. But the development of automated manufacturing of the parking did not change its quality. By the beginning of the 20th century, most factories switched to the mass production of thyroid parquet from various woody. During the construction of public and residential premises, whether parquet floors spread widely with simple laying. Nowadays, a mathematical parquet floor is often used quite often.
