The device consists of several plates. Their shape and size are identical. The angle under which they are sent to each other is 180 °. Due to this, hot and cold channels can alternate, and the temperature regime can change.
Heat exchanger is a special equipment. Its power can be changed. To increase it, just add a few more plates. The failed plates can be easily replaced, so that heat exchangers are considered very durable and easy to use.
The heat exchanger plates are stamped from thin metal sheets. Their surface is corrugated. Thanks to this, the desired stream turbulence is created. Due to this, heat transfer increases largely. The same allows minimizing the risk of scale.
The design is absolutely sealed. Special gaskets are used as material-mix. They are made of rubber that can withstand high temperatures. The gaskets are attached to the plates with special glue. This allows you to divide the warm and cold environment.
There are three types of plate heat exchangers. Collapsible heat exchangers are equipment in which water and gas can be media. In soldered heat exchangers, exclusively liquid media are used. Welded heat exchangers are specialized equipment that is used in gas and oil refining.
Due to the features of its design, the heat exchanger requires periodic cleaning. It can be chemical, mechanical or complex. The chemical method is suitable for planned cleaning. Mechanical cleaning is best suited for collapsible heat exchangers. They resort to integrated cleaning with severe equipment pollution.
